1. How painful is it to discontinue use of Nuevosoft Test Manager? Would I need to re-enter all of the data I entered in Nuevosoft Test Manager in the new tool? Zero pain. All of the data that you enter in Nuevosoft Test Manager can be exported out as Excel spreadsheets; including list of features/requirements, test cases and test results. You will lose absolutely nothing and no rework is needed to enter data into the new test management system. We are sure that step will not be needed but we have implemented it anyway for your peace of mind!
2. Can I use feature / requirement IDs and test case IDs in my own format or do I have to use Nuevosoft Test Classification method to use this solution? You can use any format of IDs but if you use Nuevosoft Test Classification method, then you can achieve logical grouping of features and tests for ease in maintenance.
3. We have legacy tests and they do not have traceability established with features they are testing. Do I have to define traceablity before I can use the solution? No. The solution has a concept of "DefaultFeature" which allows you to assign all the tests to this DefaultFeature. When you import test cases into the solution without the associated features, the tests are associated to "DefaultFeature". At some point in future you can go back and associate appropriate features to these test cases to complete traceability.
